Carly & Cole {Wedding}

Carly and I had met once before, three years ago during a mutual friend’s wedding in Newnan, Georgia. Encouraged to sit next to one another during the wedding ceremony, Carly and I spent the first 30 minutes of our new found friendship together wiping happy tears from our face. Fast forward 3 years, Carly and I would meet again but this time it would be so that I could document her wedding day…with many more happy tears of course.

After Cole proposed to Carly the wedding planning led them to the idea of a destination wedding in Pensacola...a long way from their home in Brooklyn, NY. Turns out, Cole is a huge plane buff (is there a technical word for someone who loves planes?) and is even taking flying lessons. Given the aviation history and beautiful (warm!) beaches, Pensacola was an obvious choice for their destination wedding. For the entire weekend, Carly and Cole spent their time pool, bar, and beach side with their loved ones exactly like they had planned. It was loud with laughter, full of amazing food, and lots of planes.

Uninhibited and confident, Carly takes life in stride with her positive spin on things and natural instinct to make people smile. She can recite lines from Saturday Night Live as if she was one of the writers and as Cole told her when reading his vows she has one of the most infectious laughs you will ever hear.

All you need to know about Cole is shown in the pictures below…He is committed to what he loves most in life and shows it every chance he gets. Like Carly, he is also uninhibited and confident and gives her a run for her money with his own sense of humor and boyish charm.

Carly and Cole, you did it right. Your wedding story will be the one I share with future friends and clients alike when they begin to plan their wedding. Tossing (some) tradition to the wind, you made sure that first and foremost, your wedding day represented who you were and started the story of your life together with real emotion that can only be shared when everything else is forgotten. It’s all about the love.

Lauren & Marshall {Wedding}

Lauren and Marshall were married February 1 of this year at Bradley’s Retreat on a beautiful and crisp Saturday evening. From the first time I met Lauren, I understood exactly how important the actual ceremony was to both Lauren and Marshall...not the wedding...the wedding ceremony. So, to see how the sun was shining like a spot light above them through the clouds as they exchanged vows was perfect just like a fairytale.

One of things I most enjoyed when getting to know Lauren was how she had a vision and worked hard to make her vision become a reality. A do it yourself kind of girl, Lauren surprised me (at first!) with all her creative ideas and really stood out as one of those types of people who can make anything happen…two things that rarely go together. Obviously beautiful, Lauren has a humble confidence about her and a strength that I know can take on anything that may come her way. There is no doubt that Marshall found a true partner in life…someone who is full of life and loyalty.

It was on their wedding day that I first met Marshall. Outgoing and with a grin a mile wide, Marshall saw me first as I came around the corner with my camera and by the time I realized he was the groom he was already hopping down the stairs to greet me and introduce me to the crowd. Quite impressed with how outgoing he was, we immediately clicked which was great for formal portraits after the ceremony. Though, I did have to keep reminding him to look somewhere other than his beautiful bride during formal pictures. Never have I met a man who literally couldn’t keep his eyes off his new bride!

Every detail of their wedding day was personal to who they are. From the rocks the guest signed, to the tree they planted & watered during their ceremony, to the song that Marshall sang as he played the guitar during the father daughter dance. It was almost impossible to get with 15 feet of the couple during the reception because the guests were lining up for their time with Lauren and Marshall. I loved documenting the hugs and laughter from the side as they spent time with the people who they love most in their lives.

Lauren & Marshall, being there to witness your wedding day from behind the lens was beautiful, touching, and amazing…not a moment went unnoticed between you both and I smile thinking about your beautiful wedding and the memories I will soon deliver to you and your families. You guys are amazing, so clearly perfect for one another, and two people who I know who will be true partners in life with one another. Thank you, thank you, thank you for having me as your wedding photographer!

PS. I am also so excited to say that I met with Justin and Shelbi (Marshall’s brother and fiancĂ©) yesterday and that they booked me to photograph their wedding later this year! I love knowing I will be photographing another Taylor wedding!!

Jackson {6 Months}

Jackson is a local internet sensation this week with his hilarious expressions...I couldn't believe all the comments he got for them on my business Facebook page! I think his fancy hair and big ole blue eyes have something to do with it too though. We had  blast during his session and I couldn't believe how he is up and moving around so great these days. Before his parents know it, he will be walking around getting into everything! You can see his past sessions here & here!
